Automatica 2012

Grace project participates at Automatica 2012, the 5th international fair for automation and mechatronic.

Come to explore the new frontiers of production process and quality control, efficiency and factory-level decision making strategies by Multi Agent System (MAS).

The project overcame the halfway mark of its work-programme and the scientific and technological results will be now integrated in a real production scenario, to demonstrate the improvement of the production system performance.

Discover the new concept of manufacturing with GRACE Demo@Hall B3, stand 529.

Grace Demo is the self-adaptive robotized vision system for online quality control representing an individual agent in the overall MAS architecture.
The main innovative features are:

  • Flexibility and Self-Adaptability
    - Camera positioning through a robot manipulator to adapt to predicted or random changes in product layout and geometry
    - Variable intensity/colour illumination to compensate changes of the environmental light conditions and/or of the characteristics of the surfaces
  • Fast and Reliable Diagnosis
    - Fast visual inspection to reduced cycle times (up to 4 inspections per second)
    - Adaptive image pre-processing algorithms to reduce measurement uncertainty
    - Advanced feature extraction and classification
